Looking For A Private Back Yard But Don't Like Fencing? Look At These Options

Posted on: 13 July 2017

If you are interested in having a more private backyard but don't want to put up a privacy fence that shuts out sunlight, there are some different features you can add to your backyard to make the space more enjoyable. There are a lot of ways you can get the privacy that you want but still have an open and airy flow throughout the space. Here are a few of the things you want to consider getting for your property.

Create a Privacy Mound

A small hill around the property line, or just in the corners of certain areas, can help to block a straight view into your yard, and it can also allow you to feel a little secluded in your back space if you are in a chair or laying down and can't see over the mound. Fill dirt will be needed, but this is a great way to get some character on your property and to get the privacy that you want.

Incorporate Vegetation

You want to incorporate plants, trees, and greenery around your property to get the privacy and shading that you desire. If you plant trees or thick and tall bushes on the privacy mound, you will have a lot of privacy in the back space. You can also get medium-height trees that don't block vision entirely but that make like a wall around the property.

Add a Water Feature

Create a water feature in the back of the property. This can block vision into the property if the water feature is tall or on one side of the yard, and it also provides the noise of water. The noises are ideal because this can block out sounds from outside your property, and it can also prevent people from hearing the sounds from your own conversations. Multiple water features can have a calming effect in the back of the property.

There are a lot of different things that you will want to think about when you are trying to get some privacy in the back of your property but you aren't willing to put up a tall privacy fence that makes you feel like you are caged in.

Constructing and Filling Raised Garden Beds

Hi there, I am Kirk Blathers. I would like to share my knowledge about raised garden beds, so I created this website. My raised garden beds house tons of bulbs that push up out of the ground as soon as the warm weather arrives. Alongside the beds, I have a few tubs full of fresh herbs and vegetables that climb the trellises. I would love to share the information I've gathered about created raised bed frames from scratch. Some people have used actual bed frames while others created the beds out of wood materials. I will also discuss soil, seed, and fertilizer selection for each bed size and type. I hope that the information I share will help you create a beautiful set of raised beds for your yard. Thanks.
